Axel was a tiny guy who lived a huge, wonderful life. He was a sweet boy, a total cuddle bug, and let's be honest—a legend. For a pup so small, everyone always commented on how surprisingly well-endowed he was! He just had that big-dog energy.
Axel knew exactly what he wanted and how to get it. He wanted to jump sky-high for treats, lick ears, and be held constantly. He wanted to woo his favorite big blonde Lab, Baby, by following her every step. He absolutely did not want his medicine, turning the house upside down to hide in the laundry or closets whenever the bottle came out.
He was a total party animal, too. Axel refused to be tucked away in a bedroom; he demanded to be in the middle of the crowd, getting passed from person to person and soaking up every ounce of attention. Even his late-night bathroom trips were iconic—waking us up at all hours because he couldn’t fit through the doggy door, only to pose outside like a perfect little ballerina with his leg out and his chin up.
He slept in our bed every night, completely adored. We made sure he had the best life possible, and the house feels incredibly empty without our cool little guy. Rest in peace, Axel.
