One summer’s day when you were young -- we danced. I twirled the garden hose and you chased the water droplets as they rained down. Thankful for your rescue, you were the most grateful and honorable of felines. Considerate of your new indoor environment; never destructive or mess-making, always respectful and caring.
You were an avid bird watcher, still possessing the wild feline “chatter”... as local birds flew by the window teasing you. There was never a box you didn’t take great joy in exploring or a play mouse you didn’t toss in the air. You learned to “sit up” and beg for a treat... which left visitors in awe
I awoke to your meows each morning - your internal alarm clock - flawless. A lover of warmth and light, you found the perfect spot for a morning nap. Later as the sun set, it was time to reflect on the days activities with snuggles and contented purrs. You were a constant in my life. Forever attentive and supportive - my friend and companion. You freely gave all that you had.
The seasons passed (all too quickly) until your 17th year. When somehow you slipped away and left for Rainbow Bridge - chasing the solar eclipse and new moon. I am so blessed to have had you in my life. In the silence, I am heartbroken.
Thank you,
Rose
